A Quick Recap on the Sotheby’s Sale

It failed to sell! The lead item, the 27 carat oval diamond in Sotheby’s sale last Thursday failed to sell! Why? I think the $2.5 estimate was just too high. By my calculations 67 lots out of 220 lots listed failed to sell. Either the estimates were too high or the reserves were too high. Yikes! That means a 1/4 of the sale failed to sell.
